Helping Our Immigrant & Refugee Neighbors

Are you looking to help our immigrant community at this time? The following local organizations provide different forms of support for our neighbors:

NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE • (651) 789-2575

Has supported immigrants and refugees on the West Side for over 128 years. They have programs that provide food support, winter gear, housing stability, and educational opportunities. Their Community Crisis Response Program provides emergency deliveries of food and other basic needs to individuals and families.

CASA GUADALUPANA

Provides a welcoming and supportive home that offers safety and stability to refugees working through the asylum process. They are also located on St. Paul's West Side.

CONVERSATIONS WITH FRIENDS

Supports detained immigrants in Minnesota. They have programs for volunteers to visit detainees at detention centers and write letters as well as a Circle of Compassion prayer group. They provide funds that allow detained people to make phone calls and provide them with a "dignity backpack" upon deportation. Their Safe Release/Accompaniment program supports those being released from the Whipple Building at Fort Snelling.

INTERFAITH COALITION ON IMMIGRATION (ICOM) • (612) 217-1185

ICOM engages in courageous spiritual and multicultural action in solidarity with immigrants and refugees. They work with immigrant rights and legal organizations and offer emotional, material, and financial support to immigrant families. They pray every second Tuesday morning at the Whipple Building at Fort Snelling.
