Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization dedicated to building and improving places to call home. Each summer, Holy Spirit joins local faith communities in building and repairing homes for families and individuals in need.

Summer 2026

Holy Spirit will work with coalitions of churches (Interfaith Builders and Holy Hammers) in home building and rehab activities for Habitat for Humanity this summer. This important work enables families in need to have affordable and safe housing.

The Work

We will do construction work—carpentry and painting (no prior skills needed; training will be provided). Construction volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Holy Spirit will provide lunch for two days (one day in each week of activity). If you are interested in helping with the lunch, contact Chris Lyons (see below).

We have two volunteer projects:

  • Tuesday, June 23–Friday, June 26 from 8:30 a.m.–4 p.m. We will do home rehab work at 1200 Ryan Ave in Roseville. This could include some of the following: adding a new bedroom and bath to the basement, updating the kitchen, painting the full interior, refinishing floors, and landscaping. There are 4–7 openings left for these days (additional days may be added as we get closer).

  • Monday, July 27–Friday, July 31 from 8:30 a.m.–4 p.m. We will work on a new home construction at 1720 Beebe Rd in Maplewood. Work will include installing wall frames; floor, ceiling, and roof trusses; sheathing; and windows and doors.

Registration

Registration is now open for June 23 and 26. Registration will open soon for July 27–31. When signing up, identify the coalition (Interfaith Builders) and congregation (Holy Spirit Catholic).
