Parish Leadership

Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees has three members, including Fr. Margevičius. Parishioners Lydia Villalva-Lijó and John Barrett have been appointed by the pastor and approved by the Archbishop. As trustees, they assist with legal and fiduciary matters and provide oversight on the Archdiocese's behalf.

Pastoral Council

The Pastoral Council manages the parish's response to key issues impacting the parish. It serves as the focal point for establishing the parish's vision, defining what Holy Spirit stands for as a community, gathering parishioner views, researching issues, identifying internal and external resources and making recommendations to the trustees and parish administration.

The Pastoral Council, composed of representatives of the entire parish, offers counsel to the pastor in matters that affect the spiritual wellbeing of the parish so that the members of the parish can grow in their individual and collective relationship with God.

The Pastoral Council is advisory to the pastor. It aids the pastor in establishing, defining, and implementing goals and policies, both long-range and short-range.

Sabrina Garbutt

I was born in the Philippines and grew up in northern New Jersey and Port Charlotte, FL. We moved to the Twin Cities from metropolitan Washington DC when my husband, Ed, became a Delta pilot based here.

I have a professional background in project management, software development and systems implementation. I currently manage several rental properties.

My love of the liturgy enabled me to serve in various ministries and liturgy support roles in all of my parish homes. Finding God in all things inspires my community service.

This feels effortless at Holy Spirit where I volunteer as a sacristan, lector, and Eucharistic Minister. I also serve the wider Saint Paul community on non-profit boards and as a Ramsey County Recycling Ambassador.

Home improvement, cooking, gardening, and lifelong learning are among my favorite activities. I am grateful to have Holy Spirit, which provides fertile ground to grow in my faith and hope to cultivate that environment for others.

Eric Zorn

The oldest of three, I grew up in Denver, Colorado and moved to Saint Paul in 2003. I have been a parishioner at Holy Spirit for 8 years and was baptized here in 2016. I'm the proud father of two. My oldest son, Mason, went to Holy Spirit School and is now attending Cretin-Derham Hall High School and my beautiful daughter, Adeline, is currently in middle school at Holy Spirit.

As an active member of the Men’s Club, I’ve served terms as Vice President and President. I’m so blessed to sing with the traditional choir and recently became a cantor. Among supporting various community and school functions at our great school, I have enjoyed coaching Holy Spirit soccer, serving at Dorothy Day Loaves and Fishes, and making the annual Jesuit retreat at Demontreville.

As a local Territory Manager and Restaurant Consultant for US Foods, you might find me out and about taking in and helping to support the great food scene in Saint Paul and Minneapolis. I have a great love for soccer; I’m active with the St. Paul Blackhawks organization and an avid curler of almost 20 years at the historic St. Paul Curling Club. I truly love the fine city of Saint Paul and am grateful and fortunate to have the opportunity to raise my family here and serve the community and parish of Holy Spirit.

Maureen Modl

I grew up in East Africa and came to the United States for college. I have been blessed to be a part of the Holy Spirit community for over 40 years. It's where I met my husband, Tom, in music ministry, and where we raised our five children.

I am in my 17th year on the math faculty at Cretin-Derham Hall. Holy Spirit is near and dear to my heart and I am honored to serve our faith community.

Chris Lyons

My wife, Sue, and I and our family, have been members of Holy Spirit Church since 1989. While our children attended the school, I was active in coaching soccer and theater for many years and did science demonstrations in classrooms. I participate in the Men's Club, lead their Red Cross blood drives, and participate in their weekly rosary on Fridays.

I also lead the parish Habitat for Humanity builds each summer and participate in the Dorothy Day Loaves & Fishes. I have been serving as a Sacristan at Masses for more than 10 years. More recently, I have worked to initiate and lead the parish Social Outreach Committee. On the Pastoral Council, I represent service and social outreach activities.

Nelson Fox

Dave Fox

I have been a parishioner at Holy Spirit Church for the last 15 years. I am active in the Men's Club, a Lector, and in the Fully Engaged ministry that prepares couples for marriage.

My wife, Maria, and I have been married for 27 years and have 3 children who attended Holy Spirit School. I have held positions in banking, mortgage, and student loan servicing. I am an avid golfer who spends many weekends at the cabin.

I grew up in the swamps of Florida and came to Minnesota seven years ago seeking a place where my family could put down roots and flourish. My great-grandfather was a native of Saint Paul, and it has been a joy to return to a city with deep family and faith ties. I became Catholic and a parishioner of Holy Spirit this past Easter. My wife, Lindsay, and I are raising three young children ages five, four, and two. We are grateful to be expecting our fourth child in the summer of 2026.

I enjoy serving wherever there is a need, whether that is helping prepare and serve meals at Dorothy Day Loaves & Fishes, greeting families at school Masses, ushering, or assisting with parish projects and grounds work. I also serve on the Discipleship Committee and bring the perspective of someone newly received into the Church. Hospitality and community are especially important to our family, and we love welcoming parishioners into our home for meals and fellowship. When not at church, I enjoy spending time in nature with my family and building the kind of community I hope my children will grow up in. I am grateful for Holy Spirit and hope it continues to be a beacon of hope, guiding our neighborhood back to Christ.

Hannah Quense

A New Jersey native, I moved to Minnesota after college to serve as a Missionary with Saint Paul's Outreach (SPO). After spending my early 20s parish hopping, I became convicted that the Church at large has a need for young adults to invest in parish life. So I decided to become a parishioner at the parish closest to where I lived: cue Holy Spirit.

I live down the road with 3 other Catholic young adult women, have been a parishioner for 5 years, and love it! I'm passionate about building community, inviting others into relationship with Jesus, and NJ style pizza. You can usually find me cooking, kayaking, or planning epic themed parties. I currently work for SPO on the development team managing our national fundraising events, direct mail fundraising, email marketing, and donor database.

I'm honored to be able to give back to the Lord some of my time and talent by serving on the Pastoral Council and Synod Evangelization Team.

Kelly Jaeschke

My name is Kelly Jaeschke and I am the current Chair of the Pastoral Council. I am also a part of the leadership team for the Women’s Club, Eucharistic Minister, and participate in weekly Adoration. It is truly a blessing and a joy to be part of such a wonderful faith community and to serve Christ in any way I can.

My late husband and I joined Holy Spirit in 1998 when we bought our first home in the neighborhood. Our two daughters, Emma and Anna, went to school at Holy Spirit. I was a classroom volunteer, served hot lunch, was a Girl Scout leader, helped with the school play, and was very involved with Night of Spirit in different roles over the years. I work full time as a pediatric speech-language pathologist where I work with children with special needs and their families.

Joe Gordon

I grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and graduated from O’Gorman High School.  Following high school, I earned a B.S. in nursing from Minnesota State University, Mankato. While in college, I met my lovely wife, Rachel. We then moved to Saint Paul where I earned my M.S. in anesthesia and began working as a nurse anesthetist at Methodist Hospital. In my free time, I love fly fishing in the summer, ice fishing in the winter, and bicycling all year long.

Rachel and I have been members of the Holy Spirit community since 2007 and our four children attend Holy Spirit School: Grace ’26, Jack ’28, Violet ’31, and Lewis ’34. As a family, we participate in the Holy Spirit community through Spirit Fest, Night of Spirit, social outreach activities, softball, and the many Men’s and Women’s Club events throughout the year.

We are blessed to have such a vibrant and diverse community at Holy Spirit. As a member of the Pastoral Council, I can act as a liaison between the school and parish and am honored to serve our community in this way.

Finance Council

The Code of Canon Law (#537) requires that every parish have a finance council. Finance councils are similar to pastoral councils in that they serve an advisory role. The council exists to advise the pastor in managing goods of the parish.

Council members are responsible for maintaining the parish’s financial health, approving the annual budget, and planning its financial future.
