Liturgical ministers are drawn closer to the mystery of Christ’s presence in the Liturgy while also providing service.

Eucharistic Ministers Needed

We have decided to start distributing the Precious Blood at Mass again starting this Easter Season. Since Vatican II, the Church has encouraged the distribution of both the Body and the Precious Blood because together, they more fully express Christ’s gift of himself at the Last Supper. At the same time, the Church has always taught that when you receive the Eucharist in the form of a Host, you are receiving the entirety of Jesus’ Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. You still receive the same grace whether or not you choose to receive from the Chalice. Those who are ill, infirm, or have compromised immune systems should be especially cautious when deciding whether to receive from the Chalice.

The reintroduction of offering the Precious Blood will be a process and there will be a learning curve so please be patient with us. In the absence of a deacon or an additional priest, we will need 3 EMHCs at each of our Masses. As we begin this process, we will only offer the Chalice if we have enough ministers signed up to help.
