Let's Get Together

It’s hard to believe that it as already been over a year since I moved here to Holy Spirit! While I am grateful for the many friendships I’ve already developed since moving into the neighborhood, I would love the opportunity to get to know you all even more! One of the ways I’ve always loved to do this is by sharing a meal with parishioners. So, if you are interested in sharing a meal, whether it is at one of our great local joints or in your home, please email me. I also love the opportunity to bless homes, so if you are interested in having your home blessed, let me know that as well!

Holy Land Pilgrimage

Fr. Nathan is partnering with the new pastor of St. Joseph’s in West St. Paul, Fr. Luke Marquard, to lead a joint Holy Spirit-St. Joe’s pilgrimage to the Holy Land in October of 2024. The details of the pilgrimage are still being discerned, but it will include time in Nazareth, Bethlehem, Jerusalem, and the Sea of Galilee. We will pray where some of the most important places in the life of our Lord and his Blessed Mother took place: the Annunciation, the Visitation, the Nativity, the Transfiguration, the Last Supper, the Agony in the Garden, the Crucifixion, and the Resurrection. We will be expertly escorted by a Catholic staff from the United States and Israel. Information (pricing and itinerary) and registrations will be available in January or February. For now, please SAVE THE DATES of October 21–November 1, 2024, and start saving your pennies. These pilgrimages tend to sell out quickly!

You're Invited to Fr. Nathan's Parking Lot Party!

There are still tickets available for Fr. Nathan’s parking lot party on Friday, Aug. 25 from 6– 9 p.m. Stop by for his home-cooked pulled pork, smoked mac & cheese, baked beans, and coleslaw. Enjoy lawn games, beer and wine for the adults, drinks for the kids, and a great time!

The event is open to adults and children. Individual tickets are required for each adult. Each adult ticket also includes admission for 2 kids. UPDATE: Tickets cost $40 (cash or check accepted). All proceeds go to the 2023 Night of Spirit. Call or stop by the parish office to purchase a ticket!

Construction & Church Repairs

Monday, July 31 will be the start date of our church entryway project. Many of the surrounding steps and entryways need repair. The project will include replacing steps at the Albert Street entrance in addition to repairing other entrances. The first part of the project will repair the damaged sidewalk, railings, and steps adjacent to the east parking lot.

Concurrently, Holy Spirit’s south parking lot will be blocked to through traffic from Albert Street and the east parking lot as Cretin-Derham Hall will be repaving their parking lot through Aug. 7.

Introducing: Maureen Owusu

Please join us in welcoming Maureen Owusu to the Holy Spirit staff! Maureen is a Holy Spirit parishioner and joins us from St. John the Baptist in New Brighton. She brings a wealth of experience to this newly created position. We look forward to working with her and wish her the best as she assumes accountant/bookkeeper responsibilities for both the parish and school.
